I’ve always been curious about marketing. It’s is amazing to me how words and phrases used to promote a good or service become etched into our minds. “Like a rock” – “Where’s the beef?” – “I’m lovin’ it”
One of the most famous ad campaigns is “Just Do It” from Nike. I think the reason that it strikes a chord with us is because of it’s simplicity. It doesn’t tell us what to do or send us to a complex workout routine. It assumes that we know what “it” is. And we do.
It = Something active
Put on your Nike shoes and do what comes natural to you. Your body was made to move and stretch and go. Just do it. Take responsibility. Go.
Akin to our body’s natural capacity to move is our natural capacity to connect with people. The connection that occurs within the context of the body of Christ is special. It is a supernatural connection that expresses the nature of God and honors Him.
So. Just DO it. Don’t over think it or wait for some sort of system. Just do it. Take responsibility and connect like a lego.
